In 2026, the Australian Workers Heritage Centre marks its 35th Anniversary - celebrating three and a half decades of preserving and sharing Australia's working history.

Under wide Outback skies, Barcaldine once again became a place of gathering and gratitude for the annual Labour Day March 2025.

The annual May Day March on Monday 5th May 2025 will commence from the Globe Hotel/Visitor Information Centre and follow down Oak Street

It's a time to consider the history of Labour Day and its wider significance, with its connection to the Australian ideals of mateship and egalitarianism.

Friday, December 1st saw our local Barcaldine community come together for the Barcaldine Regional Council's “Barcaldine Community Lighting of the Tree & Carols".

We were lucky enough to have Jerry Coleby-Williams from Gardening Australia visit us at the Australian Workers Heritage Centre in September 2023.

The Barcaldine May Day Committee is proud to be celebrating 34 years of the May Day Parade. Hosted in the grounds of the Australian Workers Heritage Centre.

Premier Annastacia Palaszczuk officially opened Stage One of the Australian Workers Heritage Centre's New Entrance Building the - ' Long Paddock.'

The Labour Day March finished at the Australian Workers Heritage Centre where parade participants and visitors were then invited to enjoy the Free Family Day.
